FEAT. Live

FEAT. Live is spearheading a new climate action strategy designed to reduce the emissions of live entertainment by unlocking sustainability funding through ticket sales.

The ‘Solar Slice’ is the name of a ticketing surcharge that is built into the booking fee of partner events as an industry commitment to prioritising sustainability. 1.5% is the suggested surcharge price point to symbolically reinforce the 1.5-degree warming target of the Paris Climate Agreement.

The latest IPCC report is pretty grim, but we've still got a chance at 1.5. But we've gotta move, we've gotta move fast, and we've gotta move together.

Across the run of massive shows. The Solar Slice revenue is used to drive carbon reduction measures and the festival's sustainability priorities in collaboration with our impact partners and the FEAT. Live advisory board.

This investment is super critical for the industry solutions we need for long-term low-carbon live event operations. From tracking and reducing carbon footprints, powering backstage solar energy setups, decarbonising ground transport with electric vehicles and supporting local reforestation.

Last year we teamed up with Australian promoter heavyweight Secret Sounds to roll out the Solar Slice across FALLS and Harvest Rock. And this year, we are stoked to be continuing this great work, rolling out the Solar Slice across Splendour and Spin Off Festival.

We are also super excited to be teaming up with Lime Cordiale again, as well as our impact partner Good Car Co. getting the band and crew in two slick electric vehicles for their Australian Tour 'Fantastical Country Club Experience'.

At last a project that takes the great passion many artists have for a healthy world powered by renewable energy,
and makes it doable. A stunning, much needed initiative.
